HAMFT JULY WORKSHOP
Group Psychotherapy Techniques for Marriage & Family Therapy:
The Craft of Bridging
Presented By:
Erica Billings, LPC-Associate
Supervised By Travis Sebera LPC-S
When:
Friday, July 11th 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location:
Our Lady of the Lake University
600 North Sam Houston Pkwy W, Houston, TX 77067 Event Description:
Group psychotherapy offers a variety of specialized techniques to strengthen emotional connection between members, or to develop them where they did not exist before. A couple or family plus a therapist can be thought of as a small group, and group therapy techniques can be applied and adapted to these modalities. In this workshop, we will learn about how bridging resolves resistances and helps people expose themselves to each other and feel less alone. This workshop will consist of a didactic lecture, an experiential demo group, and questions and answers. Please consider signing up to be a part of the demo group; it will be a rich learning experience!
About Our Presenter:
Erica is a Group Psychotherapist who also works with Individuals, Couples and Families in her private practice in Bellaire, as well as online. In process groups, she helps people learn progressive emotional communication which produces profound feelings and changed people. One of her specialties is Sibling Therapy for adolescent and adult siblings. This taps into her love for groups because siblings are a group, a very important and special subgroup within the family, and one that is often overlooked and underutilized in therapy.
