Technology Assisted Services: A case in opposition to AI note-taking
Presented by
Stephanie Zepeda, PhD, LMFT-S
WHEN Friday, October 30, 2026 - 9:00 AM
ONLINE via GOOGLE MEET - byp-qqxe-yfs
Description:
There are many creative uses of technology within the field of marriage & family therapy. We must develop a schema through which we can discern if the type of technology is good, ethical, and just. The presenter will apply the schema she uses in her practice to determine this -- and why she has determined AI-recorded sessions are a dangerous idea for the field and clients.
About Our Presenter:
Dr. Stephanie Zepeda is a retired Program Director of the OLLU Marriage & Family Therapy program. She co-developed the Houston Galveston Institute's Technology Assisted Services 15-hour training module in response to the 2017 board rules requiring technology training for therapists, years before the pandemic. Ever since then, she has had a keen interest in ethical and creative uses of technology in therapy.
