The Role of Personality and Relationships in Creating Optimal Sexuality

Emily deAyala, PhD, LPC, LMFT
AASECT Certified Sex Therapist

Humans have the unique ability to take sex to a higher level, yet many people feel like sex is another item on the to-do list, or worse, like there is something wrong with how their bodies respond. How can we transform sex into something that is not just functional, but pleasurable for the mind, body, and soul? In this workshop, backed up by original empirical research, participants will discover what ingredients create the recipe for truly optimal erotic connection.

Emily deAyala completed her undergraduate work at the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with honors, receiving a BA in Psychology. She then completed her Master of Arts in Counseling at St. Edward’s University, and eventually earned a PhD in Clinical Sexology. Emily worked in both private practice and medical settings before opening REVIVE therapy & healing in 2012. Her practice focuses on the treatment of relationship issues, sexual concerns, and trauma.

In addition to maintaining her clinical practice, Emily enjoys connecting with the general public as much as possible. Emily has given many guest lectures at Baylor College of Medicine, Rice University, MD Anderson, Methodist Hospital, and at various support groups and meetings in the Houston area. Her expert opinion has been featured on NBC, CNN, CBS, USA Today, The Houston Chronicle, Men's Fitness, Women's Health, and more.
