Jayna Haney, MS

Founder, The Bridge Across for Single Parents and Stepfamilies

Whether you call them step, bonus, or blended, it can often feel like this family jungle is full of thick brush, quicksand, and scary things at night- for you and for them... but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Join Jayna Haney as she shares the benefits of two decades of experience and extensive training. She addresses the most common and challenging issues in stepfamily life with an energetic and engaging approach that gets to the heart of the matter quickly from the first session. Gain new guidance and insights, handouts, and creative interventions for couples, children/teens, and families.

Jayna Haney provides stepfamily and single parent services to adults, couples, children/teens, and families through The Lovett Center, Shield Bearer Counseling Centers, and Red Dun Ranch. Jayna’s unique multi-therapeutic counseling and coaching approach includes attention to areas often not addressed but desperately needed in these families. First married in 1986, a mom since 1993, divorced mom and single parent in 1998, and remarried mom and stepmom since 2001, Jayna has walked a lot of miles in the same shoes as her clients.

Like her travels in family life, her professional journey has changed and grown along the way. Jayna began her work with single parents and stepfamilies in 2002, fueled by her own search for help and support. Early on, she and her husband, Mike, trained at the Stepfamily Foundation in New York and started teaching classes for stepfamily couples and single parents. In 2006, she founded The Bridge Across for Single Parents and Stepfamilies to provide coaching, education, and programs- including those she authored herself. In 2012, she began graduate school, earning an MS in Counseling and a post graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, both from University of Houston- Clear Lake. Additionally, she is trained in EMDR and trauma, attachment issues, and high conflict dynamics/parental alienation. As an LPC Intern, she is supervised by Mary Lou Shackleton, MA, LPC-S, LMFT-S. Jayna and Mike have been married for 17 years, are enjoying their empty nest with full hearts, and have four grown children.
